I have always enjoyed fishing and camping up there on the mountain. The store is fun to browse and it has a wide variety of snacks and locally made items.
We had a great weekend overall. However, the first night, we had 2 sites beside us that had 17 men around age 18-25 that kept the majority of the campground up till 3am when someone literally had to yell at them. I'm not sure approaching ANYONE at 3am is comfortable, let alone 20 grown men. The woods can be a scary place at that time. I would suggest a safety check or drive thru. I only saw an employee twice and that was after the unruly night. He said his lil mule (vehicle) was too loud so he doesn't come by after dark. Maybe they should get a golf cart then, because there is ZERO service and no land lines anywhere so we were completely cut off. Other than that night, it was honestly beautiful!
It's a great place to watch the stars at night. The distance from the tent campsites to the bathrooms is a little far but it's fine if you like walking. It's a fun drive to get to so you'll never be bored during your journey there
Great place. Nice lake to relax by. The tent site were a bit closer then i wanted but still a nice getaway
Great campground, kids rode bikes around. Very clean and great fall scenery.
